Name: Chris Berg
Years Coaching Triathlon: Since 2010
Background in Sports: Competitive Swimming, Ice/Roller Hockey, Indoor/Beach Volleyball.
Athletic Achievements: Winning the 2010 Mission Bay Triathlon was special for me, because it is one of the oldest triathlons around and it is the birthplace of our sport.
Trial of Miles; Miles of Trials.
What you like most about coaching?
I enjoy watching athletes develop and grow, pushing themselves to be better than they were the day before.
“A runner is a miser, spending the pennies of his energy with great stinginess, constantly wanting to know how much he has spent and how much longer he will be expected to pay. He wants to be broke at precisely the moment he no longer needs his coin”
Favorite part of sport:
I like it when an athlete puts together a strong race from start to finish, never relenting and charging through each discipline.
My first triathlon was the 1998 Monmouth County Sprint Triathlon at Sandy Hook in New Jersey.
